What is Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten?

Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten, or VPK, is a free educational program that prepares 4-year-olds for kindergarten and beyond. Children must live in Florida and be 4 on or before September 1 of the school year they enroll. VPK is a 540-hour program offered throughout the school year.

Schedule

Our VPK hours are 8:30-11 on Fridays. We do offer wrap-around care. This cover covers care for before and after those times.

JELLY BEAN JUNCTION VPK program closely follows the Brevard County School Board’s calendar but varies slightly.

How do I get a VPK certificate?

Parents may go to the Early Learning Coalition of Brevard‘s Website to get information on how to register for voluntary pre-kindergarten and on what documents are needed to obtain a VPK Certificate. Once parents obtain their VPK Certificate, they may bring it to our school in order to hold their child’s place in our program. Visit the ELC Website for more information:

What else should I know?

We will hold a VPK Orientation Night during summertime for all families participating in our VPK to ensure all your questions are answered when it comes to knowing you made the right decision by choosing Jellybean Junction for VPK!

Tigers/Panthers

Our Tiger.s/Panthers program focuses on wraparound care, designed to accommodate the needs of busy families by offering flexible scheduling options. During wraparound care, children have the opportunity to engage in a variety of enriching activities that complement their learning experiences during regular class hours.
