Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten, or VPK, is a free educational program that prepares 4-year-olds for kindergarten and beyond. Children must live in Florida and be 4 on or before September 1st of the school year they enroll. This is a 540-hour program offered throughout the school year.
Our Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten hours are 8:30 am – 11:30 am, Monday – Friday. We do offer a wrap-around option which covers care for before and after those times.
JELLY BEAN JUNCTION’s VPK program closely follows the Brevard County School Board’s calendar but varies slightly.
Parents must go to the Early Learning Coalition of Brevard’s Website to register for voluntary pre-kindergarten and learn more information about what documents are needed to obtain a Certificate. Once parents receive their Certificate, they may bring it to our school in order to hold their child’s place in our program. Visit the ELC Website for more information.
We will hold an Orientation Night during summertime for families participating in our VPK program to ensure all of your questions are answered, and you get a chance to meet the teachers, see your child’s future classroom, and obtain their supply list along with other important documents.
Our Tigers/Panthers program focuses on wrap-around care, designed to accommodate the needs of busy families by offering full-time scheduling options. During wrap-around care, children have the opportunity to engage in a variety of enriching activities that complement their learning experiences during regular class hours. This is a tuition based program that provides breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack, covering 10 hours a day, Monday – Friday. Wrap-around students also have the option for drop-in days when our “VPK” is closed, but JBJ is open.
